1.Definition

NS-FOG98 medium high precision fiber optic gyroscope is one of our closed-loop fiber optic gyroscope series products. The fiber optic gyroscope is a sensitive component based on an optical fiber coil, and the light emitted by the laser diode propagates along the optical fiber in two directions. The difference in the light propagation path determines the angular displacement of the sensitive component.

Compared with the traditional mechanical gyroscope, the fiber optic gyroscope has the advantages of all solid state, no rotating parts and friction parts, long life, large dynamic range, instant start, simple structure, small size and light weight. Compared with the laser gyro, the fiber optic gyroscope has no blocking problem, and does not need to accurately process the optical path in the quartz block, and the cost is relatively low.

2.Principle

The working principle of fiber optic gyroscopes is based on the Sagnac effect. The Sagnac effect is a general correlation effect of light propagating in a closed-loop optical path that rotates relative to inertial space, that is, two beams of equal light emitted from the same source in the same closed optical path propagate in opposite directions. Finally merge to the same probe point.

If there is a rotational angular velocity relative to the plane perpendicular to the plane of the closed optical path and the relative inertia space, the optical path of the beam propagating in the forward and reverse directions is different, and the optical path difference is proportional to the angular velocity of the rotation. . Therefore, as long as the optical path difference and the phase difference information corresponding thereto are known, the rotational angular velocity can be obtained.

3.Features:

(7) It can be used together with a ring laser gyro to form sensors of various inertial navigation systems, especially sensors of strapdown inertial navigation systems;

(8) The structure is integrated with the optical system, the performance is stable and reliable, and the installation is simple and convenient.
